The Gibson Diablo SG
The Gibson SG Diablo was Gibson guitar of the month for February. It is painted in a deep red color (metallic red) thus the name. Much like the Gibson SG made in 1961 the body is made from Mahogany. In addition the guitar is carved inwards giving the shape a 3 dimensional look from afar. The controls are simple, one volume and one tone knob along with a three way switch. The Pickups are Gibsons famous burstbuckers which have bobbin wind ups and Alnico II magnets. In addition to the amazing vintage sound you get from them they are gold plated making for a sweet looking axe. Gibson adds 2 additional frets to the neck making for 24 frets instead of 22. The fretboard is made of rosewood and has been dubbed as the fastest playing neck around. The rosewood also allows for greater sustain and resonance which make this guitar a great choice for lead guitarists in any genre. Like all Gibson Guitars of the Month it is limited to a production run of only 1000 guitars. The price of the Diablo will set you back $3249 mrsp if you can get your hands on one I'm sure it will not disappoint.
