Which Baby Stroller is Right?
When thinking about a baby stroller one should first consider what type of lifestyle they are leading. Do you want the stroller for the casual walk around the neighborhood or in the park or are you a jogger wishing to get a stroller that is safe at speeds and can protect you child no matter what happens. If the first example fits your life style (casual walker) then you should think about a lightweight, foldable stroller with an umbrella or sun/rain cover and some storage area for diapers and food/drinks is the way to go. These strollers typically have all four wheels that can swivel, this helps when you are shopping or heading out for errands. If you fall into the second example (jogger or walker) you would want to purchase a sturdy "heavyweight" stroller. But, don't let the term "Heavyweight" throw you off many stroller manufactures like Schwinn are making sturdy strollers that are considered "Heavyweight" and they actually weigh less then some of the lightweight strollers. So don't let the term heavyweight keep you from purchasing a stroller of this type. Jogging strollers serve a very important roll for active parents/guardians, and that is to protect its passenger. All-in-all most parents prefer to own at least two different strollers. One for ease of movement the other for safety while engaged in athletic activities. Another type of stroller one should consider is a travel system. These types of strollers fit into the Mid-Weight stroller but it gives the parent/guardian an extra function and that is a children’s car seat. This type of stroller allows one to detach the wheels and car seat that the child is already in and get on there way quicker. This type of stroller is perfect for the traveler who is always in a rush. While this system sounds perfect for everyone it does have its cons. The travel system should only be used with small infants. Lets face it babies can get big quick and it would be terrible if you drop your child. In addition the cheaper models are not sturdy and have had problems with the seat popping out at the wrong time. (No fun there either). As mentioned in the first paragraph it is important to think about your lifestyle before picking a stroller that fits your budget and needs. (We will cover more about budgets later). Also keep in mind having two strollers is seen by many to be the way to go.
